Freckles will go through natural changes as your skin heals. They may initially appear darker or more defined before softening and settling into a more natural finish. Following these aftercare instructions carefully will support optimal healing and long-lasting results.
Immediately After Your Appointment
Following your treatment, the skin may appear slightly red or feel tender. A small amount of lymph fluid may be present as your skin begins the healing process.
Gently blot the treated area with a clean tissue every few minutes until excess lymph fluid is no longer present.
A cool compress may be applied to help with redness or swelling; however, avoid allowing the treated area to become wet.
Avoid touching the area unless necessary.
Days 1–7: Cleanse & Protect
The first week is an important part of the healing process. Keeping the area clean and protected will help support proper healing.
Cleansing:
Gently cleanse the treated area twice daily using a mild, gentle cleanser.
Pat dry with a clean tissue and avoid rubbing the skin.
Avoid skincare products containing acids, exfoliants, retinoids, or active ingredients near the treated area.
Moisturizing:
Apply a very small amount of recommended aftercare ointment as directed.
Avoid over-applying product, as the skin needs to heal naturally.
Healing Reminders
Sleep on a clean pillowcase during the healing period.
Allow any dryness or scabbing to naturally shed. Picking, scratching, or rubbing can affect pigment retention and healed results.
Avoid facials, chemical treatments, exfoliation, and advanced skincare treatments for 4 weeks following your appointment.
Avoid intense exercise, excessive sweating, saunas, and steam exposure for the first week.
Minimize prolonged exposure to hot water for the first 10 days.
Avoid swimming, hot tubs, and activities where the treated area may be exposed to bacteria or prolonged moisture for 10 days.
Protect your freckles from direct sun exposure and tanning for at least 4 weeks. Wearing a hat outdoors is recommended.
Avoid applying makeup directly over the treated area until fully healed.
Keep showers brief during the first 10 days to minimize steam exposure and avoid soaking the treated area.
